The Moldclean device has been developed for polluted channels in injection moulds and heat exchanger systems. Control of the ph-value and flow measurement indicate the progress of the cleaning process. Minerals that dissolve in the circulating water separate and solidify on the heat exchange surfaces, interfering with heat transfer, creating hot spots and increasing injection moulding cycle times. During this, oxygen and carbonic acid are released, which lead to corrosion, which additionally cause stoppages in production. Additional maintenance, unstable process and production stoppages cause high costs, which can only be prevented by keeping the channels clean. Depending on the level of contamination, cleaning the cooling channels of the injection mould results in shortening the cooling time up to 40% or more.
